Send and sign contracts directly in ContractHero, in compliance with eIDAS using FES and QES. With signature order, automatic reminders, and a complete audit trail.

Everyday life at many companies: three situations involving signatures that delay deal closings and waste time—and how ContractHero solves them.
We use three separate systems for document creation, signing, and archiving, and they don't integrate with one another. This takes time and leads to version chaos.
In the end, the signed contract ends up in some random mailbox—not in a central location and impossible to find.
In the event of an audit or a dispute, we lack clear evidence of who signed what and when.

Send and sign contracts digitally, in compliance with eIDAS, using an advanced electronic signature (FES) or a qualified electronic signature (QES).
"We used to require lease agreements to be signed by hand. With the qualified digital signature, we can now handle this process entirely digitally, saving us the trouble of printing out and initialing entire contracts."

An eIDAS-compliant electronic signature complies with EU Regulation No. 910/2014 (eIDAS) and is legally binding throughout the EU. ContractHero supports the advanced electronic signature (AES) as part of every plan, as well as the qualified electronic signature (QES) as an add-on. Both types of signatures are eIDAS-compliant and are archived in an audit-proof manner.
The advanced electronic signature (AES) or Advanced Electronic Signature (AdES) offers a high level of security and is less complex than a qualified signature. ContractHero's AES is also eIDAS-compliant and can be used for most contracts that require a legally binding electronic signature. The AES ensures that the identity of the signer is clearly traceable, for example through authentication procedures such as mobile phone verification.
While the AES does not have the same high legal status as the QES, it still meets high security requirements and offers an efficient way to sign documents in a legally secure and trustworthy manner.
Learn more about the advanced electronic signature in our blog.
Yes. ContractHero uses an eIDAS-compliant electronic signature that is legally valid in Germany and the EU. This allows most contracts to be signed in a legally compliant manner without the need for printing, scanning, or mailing.
The advanced electronic signature (AES) is sufficient for most business contracts in Germany and is included in every ContractHero plan. The qualified electronic signature (QES) requires identification via Video-Ident or eID and legally replaces the handwritten signature in form-specific contracts such as fixed-term employment contracts or consumer loans. QES is available as an add-on with ContractHero.
Yes. Since the adoption of the EU eIDAS Regulation (910/2014), electronic signatures have been legally recognized. For most contracts, a simple or advanced electronic signature is sufficient; a qualified electronic signature (QES) is required only when the law mandates the written form.
Yes. You can send contracts directly from the platform for signature to one or more signers, in the order you specify. You can view the status at any time, and reminders are sent automatically.
Yes, in ContractHero, you can freely define the order of signatories. Users decide who signs first and who signs next. The system automatically sends invitations and reminders in the correct order. The signature status is clearly visible in the system at all times.
As soon as a contract is signed in ContractHero, it is automatically stored in the central contract repository. This storage is GoBD-compliant, audit-proof, and ISO 27001-certified. Servers are located exclusively in Germany; with the Enterprise plan, backups can be stored on a dedicated server at the customer’s location.
In ContractHero, you can see the signature status in real time: who has already signed and who still needs to sign. Automatic reminders ensure that no signer is overlooked.
Digital signatures offer numerous advantages: They enable documents to be signed legally from anywhere and at any time without having to send originals by mail. The entire signature process takes place online, eliminating the time-consuming back-and-forth sending of paper documents. Digital signatures save time because documents can be signed with just a few clicks and a fixed signature sequence can be set for the parties involved. Digital signatures ensure that documents are signed in a legally valid and secure manner, enabling fast and efficient digital document management .
With ContractHero, contracts can be created digitally and then sent digitally for signature and securely signed by the parties involved. Both advanced electronic signatures (AES) and qualified electronic signatures (QES) are available, so you can choose according to your security requirements. In addition, a signature sequence can be defined so that the signature process is clearly structured for all parties. ContractHero enables seamless integration of digital signatures into the contract process, ensuring smooth and legally compliant contract processes. Once signed, these contracts can be proactively managed with ContractHero and securely stored in the cloud .
